Meet Our Staff

Thomas Giovatto

Tom Giovatto currently serves as the Head Women's Soccer coach at Long Island University. Previously, Tom spent 17 years leading the St. Francis Brooklyn Men's Soccer team, winning 5x NEC Conference Title, 4x NEC Regular Seasons, produced MLS Draft selections, and dozens of All-American, All-Region, and All Conference selections.

Before building St. Francis into an NEC juggernaut, Giovatto coached at Stony Brook University and Saint Peter's University, being recognized in the Saint Peter's hall of fame.

Giovatto is an experienced youth soccer coach, having served in a director and coaching capacity at Met Oval, Brooklyn Knights, and Downtown United Soccer Club.

Before starting his coaching career, Tom was a four year letter winner at Iona University.

Jason Orban

Jason Orban serves as an assistant women's soccer coach at Long Island University. He spent the 2023 season at Columbia University. Prior, Orban spent five years on Tom Giovatto's staff at St. Francis Brooklyn, winning three NEC trophies, while developing MLS Super Draft and multiple All-Region and All-Conference selections.

Prior to St. Francis, Orban served as the Head Men's Soccer Coach at St. Joseph's College, Long Island. He has additional experience coaching with USYS East Region ODP and in the Girls Academy League.

Before going into coaching, Orban was a four year letter winner at Stony Brook University.

Casey Nickerson

Casey Nickerson is an assistant coach with Long Island University women's soccer. Prior to joining the coaching staff at LIU, Casey competed with the women's soccer team for her final year of eligibility as a grad student. She began her collegiate playing career at Susquehanna University,

In addition to her time at Long Island University, Casey served as a youth coach at SUSA on Long Island.

Milan Davidovic

Milan Davidovic is an assistant coach with Long Island University. Prior to LIU, Milan served as a coach with Lehman College and Fordham University in New York. He spent three seasons at Missouri Valley College, helping the team reach two national quarterfinals.

Outside of college soccer, Milan serves as a director at FC Somers, developing multiple players and teams into national, regional, and state champions.
